I have to give our kids credit because they were really very good. That said, our weekend adventures had some low points to match all of our fun. Liam is testing boundaries and button pushing like its his business these days. Ah, to be two and a half. Disciplining a two year old feels a bit like beating my head against a wall. Its funny too how fast memory of that frustration fades (occasionally with the help of a warm bath or a glass of wine).
Meanwhile, Lucy seems like she may be teething. She drooled so much at the BBQ that I changed her shirt because it was so wet from all her drool. Perhaps she should wear a bib all the time. Not stylish, but practical. She also spits up. Perhaps I should wear a smock when handling her, burp cloths don't seem to provide optimal coverage. Last week Liam decided it would be fun to mimic the spitting up himself. "momma! I spit up!" Awesome Liam. Anyway, Lucy is generally a delight. She is very alert and bright eyed. She likes to support her weight standing, making me wonder if she too will be an early walker.

Learning about: Liam - practicing using the potty regularly, Lucy - discovered her feet this week and that her hands can go together last week. Lots of fun.
Saying: Liam - everything; our chatterbox continues to speak in long long sentences. He has started telling stories occasionally (which mostly consists of recounting what just happened in detail). Lucy "hee" "aahhhhaaa"

I've been waiting for a new post! You guys are awesome and the kids are ridiculously cute. Can you believe Liam is the age (almost exactly) that Charlie was when we visited over Memorial Day last year? 2 1/2 can be tough. But he's such a charmer... does that make it easier or harder? And Lucy is too adorable. We miss you!
Thanks for the update! The kids are so cute! I feel your pain on the spitting up thing--we dealt with that constantly with Grant, going through tons of bibs and burp cloths (and a change of clothes for me) all day. But it will get better with time. Can't wait to see you guys again and finally meet Lucy!
